About

Noortje Buijs (1997) is a multidisciplinary artist, currently based in Breda (NL) who specializes in video and installation art. Her work is inspired by natural phenomena such as the glimmering reflections on water, the mesmerizing play of sunlight casting shadows through curtains, or the gentle flicker of candlelight. These observations of the ordinary, yet extraordinary moments in our daily lives often serve as the inspiration and driving force behind her creative process.

Exploration and experimentation are key to her practice. She uses playful experimentation to find the best medium for her ideas, often focusing on themes of time and perception. Through philosophical research and personal experiences, she explores how modern Western society perceives and engages with time.

Her installations aim to capture the essence of her thoughts and emotions, inviting visitors to pause, reflect, and appreciate the wonders of the world amidst the chaos of modern life.
